Barry Price’s journey into the yachting world was destined from an early age. Growing up in a sailing family, his love for the sea was nurtured by spending countless hours on boats, particularly a 36-foot catamaran that his father, uncle, and grandfather built in his grandfather’s garden. Some of his fondest childhood memories were sailing up and down the Bristol Channel on this catamaran, igniting a passion that would later define his career.
Despite this early exposure, Barry entered the yachting industry relatively late. He spent many years working in travel, starting at the age of 17, before making the transition into yachting in 2014. His journey truly began in Miami, where he crossed paths with Emmanuel Pertuisot, the CEO of Windward. This encounter changed his life, and he hasn’t looked back since, fully immersing himself in an industry he now loves.
“The most enjoyable aspect of my job is the freedom it offers. As an entrepreneur in a fascinating industry, I appreciate the flexibility to travel, take time off when needed, and work remotely from anywhere with just a laptop and phone. This sense of autonomy fuels my motivation and passion for the job.”
While many might think visiting luxury yachts is always glamorous, Barry finds that the real magic happens when he steps aboard a truly unique vessel. A visit to the renowned “Christina-O” left him in awe, as did his experience on a smaller gulet called Dolce Vita, where he was warmly welcomed by the owners and crew. Moments like these make his role as a charter broker extraordinary.
